It is not your father's Hilux. It is a new style bakkie and an ute unlike other pickups and more close to full size pickups offered in the United States than 1 ton pickups of the yore offered in the Old World. 2018 Toyota Hilux Single Cab, 2018 Toyota Hilux Vigo Extra Cab, 2018 Toyota Hilux Vigo Smart Cab and 2016 Toyota Hilux Double Cab Vigo is available in 4x2, Prerunner (4x2 raised to the height of 4x4) and 4x4. Single Cab is available in 4WD and 2WD configurations but indeed both Smart Cab and Double Cab are available in all three configurations. 2018 New Shape Facelift Model is available in TRD Sportivo versions in both manual and auto transmissions. 

Upright slanting grill, sharp headlamps and larger fog light will add to its distinctive look of 2015 Major Change Toyota Hilux Vigo. Toyota Hilux cabin has always been about comfort and more luxury features will make it an even more luxurious ride. It also borrows some features from Toyota Kluger. It will remain easier to drive and will have even more off-road capabilities and will become more spacious.

Toyota has seen all the recent changes made in 2015 Ford Ranger especially in Wildtrak model and 2015 Mazda BT-50, 2015 Nissan Navara NP-300 and 2015 Isuzu Dmax. It is expected that it has kept all these new trucks in mind when creating the 2015 Next Generation Hilux. 2015 Mitsubishi L200 Triton is also expected soon. 

2014 Toyota Hilux Next Generation  Minor Change model is available now at Jim Autos. Now Major Change is expected to be released in late 2014 as 2015 Major Change Model. Toyota Hilux Vigo remains world's best selling pickup truck so Toyota can chose to play it safe in 2014 and only released a minor change model. 2015 Next Model will by all accounts be a major change new model which will completely overhaul Toyota Hilux's interiors and exteriors and will give it a fresh new look. Aerodynamics will be helped by bold lines along the body.

Toyota Australia, Toyota Japan and Toyota Thailand worked together to create this full change model so no surprise it has a lot of wonderful technology. New shape New 2018 Toyota Hilux complete makeover was as big a game changer as introduction of 2005 Toyota Hilux Vigo in late 2004.

It is not known if the name Toyota Hilux Vigo Champ will still be with us. Vigo Champ designation was not particularly popular with the customers so perhaps they will retire it in favour of a new designation. Stay tuned!

Toyota Australia Technical Centre, in Notting Hill near Melbourne will be in charge of chassis tuning for next generation HiLux pickup trucks destined for the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Some of the items they will be overseeing are ride and handling tuning, along with the integration of ESC and other new-age chassis aids across all models for the first time in HiLux. There are also rumours of an AWD model but we won't hold our breath for it.

Changes in Next Gen 2017 2018 Hilux Toyota Revo

Toyota is hoping that you will fall in love all over again with all the changes it is planning for the aging Hilux. Some changes in New Model New Shape 2017 2018 Major Change Toyota Hilux are as follows:

• New Grill and front and rear lighting
• Better ride and handling
• Much better Suspension to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). Much better shock absorbers
• Increase braked towing capacity to at least 3000kg from the current 2500kg
• Add more active and passive safety features
• 2500 cc D-4D Diesel 2KD Engine, 3000 cc D-4D Diesel 1KD engine and 2000 cc Gasoline (Petrol) VVT-i DOHC I4 have been replaced with 2400 cc GD and 2800 cc GD engines, 2700 cc Gasoline (Petrol) VVT-i DOHC I4 and 4000 cc Gasoline (Petrol) VVT-i DOHC V-6 but horsepower and torque will be increased on all models
• European steering box instead of the current Japanese steering box
• Electronic Stability Control has been added to all Hilux models
