2017 Facelift Isuzu MU-X Model<\/h2>\n

Having gone on sale in 2013, the facelifted SUV\u2019s arrival coincides with the 60th anniversary of the brand\u2019s presence in Thailand.<\/p>\n

On its outside, the revised MU-X sports new bumpers front and rear, along with LED headlamps and tail lights. In front, an updated grille marks the ladder-frame SUV\u2019s visual change, while rolling stock now comprises 18-inch alloy wheels, up from the 17-inch items on the pre-facelift. A roof-mounted spoiler rounds up the exterior aesthetic updates.<\/p>\n

Powerplants for the facelifted MU-X are made up of the 150 hp\/350 Nm 1.9 litre turbodiesel and the 177 hp\/380 Nm 3.0 litre turbodiesel, which also reside in the engine bays of the updated D-Max. The 1.9 litre unit is enlisted solely for 2WD duty in the updated MU-X, with the choice of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. The 3.0 litre is mated to a 4WD setup and a six-speed automatic transmission with hill descent control.<\/p>\n

Inside, much of the architecture remains the same, albeit with updated cabin appointments: new soft-touch plastics have been introduced, as have wood-look trim inserts, while an eight-inch iConnect smartphone-capable infotainment unit sits atop the familiar circular HVAC control cluster from before.<\/p>\n

The two-tier glove compartment, dashboard storage, and air-con vent-cooled cupholders are also carried over from the MU-X\/D-Max front cabin. Meanwhile , the leather upholstery for the seats pictured here appear to use a revised trim pattern.<\/p>\n

Isuzu MU-X 1.9 Liter 1900 cc Engine<\/h2>\n

The MU-X gained a number of updates in 2016, led by the inclusion of the 1.9 litre Ddi mill to the model\u2019s line-up. Like on the D-Max facelift, the RZ4E-TC offers 150 PS at 3,600 rpm and 350 Nm at 1,800 to 2,600 rpm, with two transmissions choices to pick from, a six-speed manual or a six-speed Rev Tronic automatic.<\/p>\n

The 1.9 litre unit replaces the 4JK1-TCX 2.5 litre engine in the Isuzu D-Max\/MU-X application. Isuzu\u00a0says that despite the smaller displacement, the new engine is 16 hp more powerful and 30 Nm torquier than the outgoing mill, and it\u2019s also 20% lighter.<\/p>\n

As for the 3.0 litre version, no change to the 4JJ1-TCX\u2019s output of 177 PS at 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm at 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. Only a single transmission is offered with this one, a six-speed Rev Tronic automatic.<\/p>\n

Isuzu MU-X Thailand Variants<\/h2>\n

Six MU-X variants are available in Thailand, five of these being two-wheel drive versions, and the range starts from the 1.9 CD 6AT 2WD and 1.9 DVD 6MT 2WD, topping out with the 3.0 DA DVD 6AT 4WD.<\/p>\n

Lots of additions to the interior, led by the addition of extra lining material to reduce in-cabin noise levels. As for trim, buyers can pick from Nature Touch decorative wood or gloss Piano Black as well as beige ivory or black leather upholstery, depending on model specification.<\/p>\n

The equipment list includes cruise control, an auto dimming rearview mirror with built-in car video recorder, reverse camera and an eight-inch touchscreen audio system (rear passengers get a 10.2-inch screen).<\/p>\n

Standard safety kit, available for all variants, consists of ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESC and traction control, hill start assist and dual airbags. In the Kingdom, the MU-X is available in four exterior colour choices, with Grey Iceberg Silver being a new tone introduced on the refresh job.<\/p>\n
